Week 5 Continues: Room A Week, Bag A Day

Here's an update on the estate I'm clearing.

The before...

The after...
Not too bad for a days work.  Here's todays project...
I may not have a great after photo for you since the garage will soon be housing all the items I'll be selling as well as all the garbage that needs to be taken to the dump.  However, my goal is to sort through all the boxes and get each item either in the garbage or keep pile.  Wish me luck!

The Room:

Back at my house I'm continuing to clean cupboards in my craft room.  Yesterday I promised to get all the family photos moved to my master hallway closet.  Promise kept!  Here's a photo

Now that it's spread out a little bit and organized on shelves it doesn't seem so overwhelming.  I'm sure I wont be able to get back to it until summer, but now I feel like I'm actually going to look forward to it.

In the craft room I began with this cupboard...
Notice all the empty spaces?  That's where the Christmas decor was stored that I've now purged.  To continue the purge I started with the fabric box.  It was completely full, causing all my burlap to be precariously stacked on the shelf.  I realized I didn't need but one piece of the fabric that was in the box.  Somehow over the last 7 years I've put all my scraps (I'm not a sewer so I mostly make runners for events and pennant banners) into this box, never to be used again!  Now my burlap (which I use all the time) has a home to keep it contained and clean.  Despite the fact that I'm not a sewer, there are 2 sewing machines in this cupboard- both of which don't work.  When my first machine locked up I just went and bought a new one- which locked up the second time I used it.  Something about ribbon getting sucked into the gears doesn't do these machines any good!  I have a message in to a cousin to get the newest one fixed.  I'm hoping she'll take the other one as payment, which will help purge another item from my cupboard.  For now, however, here's the after...
Still lots of room to put little boxes as I sort out my craft supplies, which adorn the entire craft room!

Here's what's leaving the house today...

The Bag:

39 pounds worth!  How's your purge coming?

Total Loss:  660 pounds
