Day 2: A Room A Week, A Bag A Day

Here we go for day two:

The Room:
Remember my problem corner?  The computer cabinet is always a disaster.

Today I worked on that corner.  Some dark times I tell you.  If you thought the front of the cabinet looked bad, check out the back....

My iphone doesn't do it justice.  Dust bunnies galore!  I also started vacuuming those dark beams, check out the dangling dust balls...

It feels good to deep clean.

The Bag:
Here's todays pile:
It weighs in at 40 1/2 pounds.  Here's where most of it came from:

The notorious computer cabinet.  A lot of weight also came from here...
I don't actually have any subscriptions to magazines, but occasionally Mr. Right brings some decorating ones home from work or a friend gives me their left over People magazine.  I typically browse them the night I get them, pull any pages with ideas I like and then they seem to end up in this magazine holder for a year or so.  I've decided to go ahead and recycle the magazines and take magazine holder to my next vintage market.  Hopefully this will help my magazines go straight to recycle when I'm done browsing.

Also in my unload pile are 2 bags of Halloween items I borrowed from a friend for a dinner as well as a book I borrowed from another friend.  I figure if it's leaving the house I can count it!  I also found the large black frame leaning on the couch in the back of my daughters closet when I was getting her laundry this morning.  I think it's been back there for at least 2 years, so I'll be adding that to my next vintage sale as well.  It feels good to go from this...

To this...
 and this...
How are you doing with the challenge?  I received 2 pictures from friends yesterday.

The first said, "Here's my bag full of leaves and broken pool toys that have been driving me crazy all over my covered patio.  18lbs!"
Another friend said, "Only took me 4 hours to get all Halloween down, put away & Thanksgiving out!"

I'd love to see your progress!  Leave a comment below and let me know how many pounds your house has lost.

Total Loss:  56 1/2 Pounds
